SECRET WORLDS OF KENYA (16 days/15 nights)
Nairobi, Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Aberdare, Meru National Park, Lamu
This exceptional journey introduces you to the full range of Kenya's diverse wildlife parks and reserves, in the utmost luxury and exclusivity. Begin with a night in Nairobi before flying to Maasai Mara National Park, whose annual migration is considered by many to be the quintessential Kenyan wildlife experience. Spend three nights here, then travel to Lake Nakuru, a small gem of a park, ideal for birdwatchers and anyone inspired by natural beauty and tranquility. Lake Nakuru's shallow waters attract pelicans, flamingoes and other water birds. The lake is surrounded by verdant woodland; this combination gives the park an intimacy that charms its visitors. After two nights here, drive to Aberdare National Park, whose mountains are covered in dense woodland. Explore the area, which is the center of Kenya's first rhino conservancy. Big game are plentiful here, amidst the stunning scenery of the Laikipia plains on the edge of the Rift Valley. Next, travel to Meru National Park, for three nights. Meru was the home of the Adamsons, whose life as passionate conservationists was documented in Born Free. After fully appreciating the extraordinary range of Kenya's wildlife parks, fly to Lamu for four idyllic nights amongst Kenya's Indian Ocean islands. Whether you want to laze on the beach, or wander the ancient Swahili trading towns that flourished over the centuries, Lamu is an ideal place to round off your Kenyan sojourn. After Lamu, fly to Nairobi for your international departure.
