INTRODUCTION TO THE KINGDOM (9 days/8 nights)
Marrakesh, Fes

This program is a perfect introduction to the main attractions of Morocco. Begin with four nights in festive Marrakesh. This is a city of intoxicating charm and character, from the bustling warren of the souks, to the tranquil expanses of the Menara and the Majorelle Gardens. Visit the city's excellent Maison Tiskiwin and Dar Si Said museums, displaying a wealth of traditional arts. Spend a day visiting the Atlas mountain villages of the Ourika valley. This gorgeous alpine region is home to Berber communities who follow a way of life that has changed little over the centuries. Fly to Fes, the ancient Imperial city of northern Morocco. Fes is a feast for the senses, with its labyrinthine medina teeming with artisans and merchants. Tour the medina, and the diverse neighborhoods throughout Fes El Bali and Fes El Jedid, the old quarters of Fes. A day tour takes you to the neighboring Imperial city of Meknes, and the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, with its superb mosaics. You may like to take an optional tour to some of the mountain villages outside of Fes. This beautiful region is known for its oak and cedar forested mountains, whose valleys are scattered with the rough woolen tents of nomadic Berbers. Transfer to Casablanca for your international departure.
