JEWELS
OF AFRICA: South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania & Egypt
(18 days/17
nights)
Cape Town, Kruger, Maasai Mara, Ngorongoro
Crater, Cairo, Red Sea
Africa's attractions are endless;
this program aims to provide a taste of the diverse range of Africa's
riches. Start with two nights in Cape Town, arguably Africa's loveliest
city. Enjoy some city touring before flying to Kruger for two days'
safari in one of the world's greatest parks. Next, fly from Johannesburg
to Nairobi for one night, and then continue to Maasai Mara. These
rolling grasslands in southwest Kenya are famed for the Great Migration,
when the plains are covered with countless wildebeest, predators
close on their heels. After three unforgettable nights of game viewing,
travel to Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater, a microcosm of East African
scenery and game. While here, make sure to explore the Olduvai Gorge,
where scientists believe human life originated and where many Leakey
family archaeological discoveries were made. Game drives or walks
through the bush are the best ways to experience this land. After
three nights, return to Nairobi for your flight to Cairo. Spend
two days touring the city and absorbing the ancient and modern history.
Finish your trip with three nights at one of the finest Red Sea
resorts, where you may choose to relax on the beach or enjoy the
world-class snorkeling and diving. Return to Cairo for your international
departure.
