FINE
LINENS, WILD LIONS: A LUXURY SAFARI IN SOUTH AFRICA
(11 days/10
nights)
Johannesburg, Escarpment, Kruger,
Swaziland, Hluhluwe
This luxurious program immerses travelers in some of South Africa's most stunning scenery. After a night in Johannesburg to rest after your flight, begin your exploration with two nights in the stunning region of the Mpumalanga Drakensberg, commonly known as the Escarpment. This is a region of rivers, fly fishing, and gentle countryside. Next, travel to Pilgrim's Rest, a restored mining town situated near Blyde River Canyon, one of the world's most spectacular gorges. After exploring this region, continue to Kruger National Park for two nights. Game drives will offer golden opportunities for spotting the Big Five and more. Drive to Swaziland for two nights. Swaziland has a strong and unique cultural tradition, and is one of the world's few remaining absolute monarchies: visitors will notice distinct cultural differences, even though the country is surrounded by South Africa. The country is also excellent for hiking, with several fine wildlife reserves, such as the Malolotja and Mlilwane, which you can easily explore. Your next stop is Hluhluwe, one of South Africa's most important wildlife reserves. Situated in KwaZulu Natal, the reserve is known for its lush, subtropical vegetation, and for its large and thriving rhino population. Spend two nights here before driving to Durban for your departure flight.
Please note: Occasionally, Phinda Mountain Lodge offers guests
