This program takes travelers to many key wildlife sites and natural highlights of South Africa. Portions of the trip are self-driven but regional flights are used to cover major distances; this unique combination allows you to comfortably experience as much as possible in a short time. After a night in Johannesburg at the Grace Hotel, your journey begins with two nights in the luxurious Londolozi Private Game Reserve. Game-drives invehicles are available twice a day to introduce you to the finest game-viewing experience in South Africa. Return by air to Johannesburg and board the Rovos Rail, a classic train that has been refurbished to mint condition. For three days, enjoy the elegant ambiance, gourmet food and drink, and attentive service as you make your way to Cape Town. Spend three nights in Cape Town at the elegant Cape Grace Hotel and explore this charming city of cobbled streets, vibrant market squares, and stunning gardens. While here, tour the Cape Peninsula, find out more about the cultural history of the area by visiting the nearby townships, see the famed Winelands, and check out historic colonial homes in Stellenbosch. Fly to George, the gateway to the Garden Route, to pick up your self-drive car and continue the same day to Sedgefield. With Sedgefield as your base, spend a day taking advantage of the many places of interest and things to do along the Garden Route. Head next to Plettenberg Bay; this enormous horseshoe-shaped bay is one of the most beautiful and glamorous spots along the exquisite Garden Route. Spend two nights at the Plettenberg Hotel before driving to Port Elizabeth to drop off your car and board your onward flight.
